- What is BYOK?
- BYOK means "bring your own key." Free users connect their own Google Gemini API key in account settings. Map generation runs against your key — no credits needed, no monthly fee.
- What is an AI Credit?
- Each AI-stylized map generation costs credits based on output resolution: 0.5 for 1K, 1 for 2K, and 1.5 for 4K. The underlying procedural map (territories, borders, elevation) is always free — credits only apply when you apply an AI visual style.
- Do credits expire?
- Purchased credit pack credits never expire. The 10 monthly credits included with a Pro subscription reset at the start of each billing period — unused credits from the previous month do not carry over.
- What is Campaign Controller?
- Campaign Controller lets you drive a secondary display — a TV at the table, a second monitor, or a tablet — from the Cartographer interface. Open the controller view on any device and push any map or location to it in real time without sharing your screen.
- Can I use my maps commercially?
- Yes. Maps you create with Cartographer are yours. Use them in published adventures, commercial modules, or anywhere else — no attribution required.
- Can I cancel my subscription anytime?
- Yes. Cancel from your account settings at any time. You keep Pro access until the end of your current billing period, and any purchased credit packs remain on your account.
